The search for the Perfect Wallet is Over

Weekly Top Picks

Do you ever find that locating the perfect wallet is so hair pulling, teeth grinding and nails down a chalk board difficult? Well, that came to an end for me ever since I found the wonderful local brand Uppdoo. This brand continues to create an enjoyable shopping experience for their customer, when searching for functional leather goods.

After purchasing one of Uppdoo’s wallets the compliments were endless. The wallet not just serves as a luxury accessory but a place for respect for my money. The brand carries class and function, while the delicate fabric and structure reads handmade.

Uppdoo designs hand-crafted and accessory goods based in Toronto, Canada. Started in 2012 founder and designer Ricky Shi decided to create handbags and small accessories that reflected the world around us.

As I hold the leather in my hands, the delicate fabric screams quality and individual character, hence handmade. The design and craft reminds me of Parisian brand Hermes but minus the bank account dent, this brand makes it affordable to look expensive, feel expensive and carry your purse with confidence and whip out those cards with respect.

So come into Layover on Queen West to check out the latest collection of purses, wallets and so much more from Uppdoo.

Special Holiday Sale – Mara Hoffman

For all those who haven’t yet discovered this multi talented designer, we have some special offer. All Mara Hoffman’s dresses are now on sale! If you are not yet convinced, let us introduce you to Hoffman’s world of oriental patterns and exotic inspirations.

Hoffman established a recognizable aesthetic heavily focused on colorful, original prints early in her career. Recurrently drawing from nature and mythology, Hoffman ultimately draws inspiration from her own travels around the world and is a true, living embodiment of her designs.

In 2008, Mara Hoffman had her first Bryant Park appearance at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. This year also marked the launch of the brand’s first swim collection, consisting of playful bikinis, cutout one pieces and dashiki cover-ups. In 2009, Hoffman showed her swim collection at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Swim in Miami. In 2011, Mara was honored to be inducted as a member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America.

Hoffman and her close-knit team continue to evolve creatively out of their headquarters in New York City, growing the label to now encompass Women’s Ready-to-Wear, Swimwear, Childrenswear, Bridal, and recently welcomed its newest category, Activewear.

Her projects always draw inspiration from oriental patterns, mytholigies and hieroglyphics which combined with modern shapes and forms create offbeat ready to wear for active, self-confident and creative women.
